Anti-inflammatory tripeptide

KPV reconstitution calculator

KPV is commonly supplied as 5 mg, 10 mg vials. Pick a vial size and a water volume to see the concentration and what each syringe mark holds. Enter a target amount to see the draw. This page does not suggest any amount.

About KPV

KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH and carries much of that hormone’s anti-inflammatory activity without its pigment effects. In mouse colitis models, oral KPV taken up through the intestinal transporter PepT1 reduced inflammation.

KPV calculator questions

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 5 mg KPV vial?

The calculator does not prescribe a volume; the right choice depends on how large you want each draw to be. As arithmetic: 5 mg in 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL, so each unit on a U-100 syringe holds 25 mcg. Use the “Water to add” tab to work backwards from a draw size.

What concentration does KPV have after reconstitution?

Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water volume. For example, 5 mg in 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL. Check the certificate of analysis for net peptide content, which is usually lower than the label.
