About Melanotan II

Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic peptide developed at the University of Arizona in the 1990s as a sunless tanning agent. It activates several melanocortin receptors, causing skin darkening, appetite loss and erections. It has never been approved, and dermatologists have reported changes in moles and cases of melanoma in users.

Melanotan II calculator questions

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 10 mg Melanotan II vial?

The calculator does not prescribe a volume; the right choice depends on how large you want each draw to be. As arithmetic: 10 mg in 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL, so each unit on a U-100 syringe holds 50 mcg. Use the “Water to add” tab to work backwards from a draw size.

What concentration does Melanotan II have after reconstitution?

Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water volume. For example, 10 mg in 2 mL is 5 mg/mL. Check the certificate of analysis for net peptide content, which is usually lower than the label.
