About PE-22-28

PE-22-28 is a shortened analog of spadin, a natural peptide that blocks the TREK-1 potassium channel. TREK-1 knockout mice resist depression-like behaviour, and spadin produced fast antidepressant-like effects in mice. The shorter analogs were designed to last longer while keeping that activity.

PE-22-28 calculator questions

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 5 mg PE-22-28 vial?

The calculator does not prescribe a volume; the right choice depends on how large you want each draw to be. As arithmetic: 5 mg in 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL, so each unit on a U-100 syringe holds 25 mcg. Use the “Water to add” tab to work backwards from a draw size.

What concentration does PE-22-28 have after reconstitution?

Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water volume. For example, 5 mg in 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL. Check the certificate of analysis for net peptide content, which is usually lower than the label.
