About Thymosin Alpha-1

Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide from the thymus that modulates T-cell and dendritic-cell function. As thymalfasin, it is approved in several countries outside the US for chronic hepatitis B and as a vaccine or chemotherapy adjunct. Large trials in sepsis have not shown a mortality benefit.

Thymosin Alpha-1 calculator questions

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 5 mg Thymosin Alpha-1 vial?

The calculator does not prescribe a volume; the right choice depends on how large you want each draw to be. As arithmetic: 5 mg in 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL, so each unit on a U-100 syringe holds 25 mcg. Use the “Water to add” tab to work backwards from a draw size.

What concentration does Thymosin Alpha-1 have after reconstitution?

Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water volume. For example, 5 mg in 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL. Check the certificate of analysis for net peptide content, which is usually lower than the label.
